The Real Health Care Summary

If health care passes tonight, get ready. My wife saw this on Facebook yesterday, and it's a good summary of the Senate health care bill the Democrats want to pass. Enjoy.

November should be very interesting.

I wonder if the states will have the courage to take this to the court system.

Time will tell. A number of states are trying to update their own constitution to fight this. That includes Georgia, with the introduction of HR 1086.

Yay I can't wait for more claims of racism!

Stock market was up this morning, with Healthcare stocks leading the charge.

On another note,

Oddly, when I woke up this morning and looked outside, I didn't see any communist nationalistic troops with tanks rolling down my street.

Damn that is some hard hit on the insurance companies...must be a hell of a good bill if the effort to reign them in makes investors want to flock to them.

you might not have seen tanks but I saw snow this morning in Atlanta so maybe that is hell freezing over. oh wait that is probably global climate change or at least the scientist can cook some data up on that for me...damn now I am going to get anonymous guy all fired up. woohoo!

I bet the Whitehouse uses toilet paper with US Constitution written on it!

As for Communist Nationalistic troops and tanks... remember, Nikita Krushnev, former Premier of the Soviet Union, stated that the U.S. would never be taken by force.

Marxism/Communism/Socialism creeps in by creating government dependency, such as government provided healthcare. We are there, whether you want to believe it or not. It's not the end of the world, just the end of the greatest Republic every created.

I remember watching something Mr. Lewis (GA-5th) said right after the vote on a local tv station. I can't quote him directly on the first part but the last part I can because it was seared in my brain. This bill will make perscriptions affordable, close the medicare gap and "move us close to socialized medicine."

The tanks might not be rolling in but that is sort of scary.

Yes, while this is only one step along the way, we are now closer to joining the ranks of the tyrannical countries of Finland, Britain, and Canada.

Laws that protect citizens = tyranny

Insurance companies that deny coverage to customers = freedom

OK end of snark. I'm so glad that we did this. And I'm proud of my President for keeping up the fight. We just made this a better place for people to live and for kids to grow up in. Already, the opinion polls show reality sinking in: this is a good thing for America.

Of course, if you're a kid with a pre-existing condition, you're in no better shape today than you were yesterday. I thought President Obama said kids would be covered...

This from the AP:

Hours after President Barack Obama signed historic health care legislation, a potential problem emerged. Administration officials are now scrambling to fix a gap in highly touted benefits for children.

Obama made better coverage for children a centerpiece of his health care remake, but it turns out the letter of the law provided a less-than-complete guarantee that kids with health problems would not be shut out of coverage.

Under the new law, insurance companies still would be able to refuse new coverage to children because of a pre-existing medical problem, said Karen Lightfoot, spokeswoman for the House Energy and Commerce Committee, one of the main congressional panels that wrote the bill Obama signed into law Tuesday.

....if only they had read the bill...
